Northern Muse : Altered Book Sculpture
This is my first attempt at creating a blog and so I am beginning with an image of one of my many altered book pieces. This is 'Northern Muse' and it has almost become my signature piece by now as it is easily recognised as my work, and i still love it so can't sell. This piece is created from a discarded book of poems by John Buchan, Northern Muse, and the pages were removed to be added to resin to build the form; further pages are torn and folded to create the skirts and large bow on the dancer's back.
